MavCard Services FAQ

What is on my MavCard?

-The number directly above the barcode is your NU ID number. You will need this number to access certain applications such as EBRUNO (starting June 1, 2006).

-The barcode on the front of the card is used for library services. It must be activated at one of the library circulation desks to allow complete library privileges.

-The large magnetic stripe on the back of the card is encoded with user information that when passed
through a reader checks account balance or assigned privileges.

What is a MavCard?

The MavCard is the official identification card at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Your MavCard is used to access many services on campus including entrance into the HPER building and checking books out at the Library. The card can be used as a debit card for making purchases across campus!

What should I do if my MavCard is lost or stolen?

Call our office, 554-2220, and report the card lost. We will put a hold on the card and no one will
be able to use it. If you do not find the card, a replacement will cost $10.00.

What do I need to get my MavCard?

You will need some sort of photo identification: driver’s license, government issued ID, military
ID or passport. You must also know your social security number or student ID number.

What is the $4.00 photo ID fee for on my tuition statement?

The semester fee if for maintenance on all machines and equipment for the MavCard Services office.
The $4.00 fee is effective begining the Fall Semester of 2005.

How do I transfer money from my old library print card to my ID ?

If you have an old library print card or money on your current Student ID that was used specifically
used for printing in the library, this money will have to be transferred to your UNO ID Card.
The Circulation desk will be issuing vouchers and the vouchers must be presented with a
valid UNO ID card in MavCard Services.

Do I need a new MavCard each year?

No. The first card you are given is good for as long as you are taking classes. You do not need a new one.
